Project - Health & Fitness 2024 Goals
2024-06-23Introduction
Lately, I've been struggling to stay on track with my fitness goals. To keep myself motivated and accountable, I've decided to document my fitness journey.
Goals
My primary focus will be on improving my running performance and increasing my lift numbers. Specifically, I aim to:
- Run a 5k in less than 25 minutes
- Reach near my personal best in Bench Press, Squats, and Deadlifts
- Reduce weight by 10 kg
Tracking Progress
To monitor my progress, I will record my gym sessions using pen and paper. Initially, I'll manually upload the data to a Google Sheet. In the future, I might automate this process by developing a simple AI script that translates my handwritten notes into rows on the Google Sheet. If I implement this automation, I'll report back on the experience in a future post.
Dashboard
To stay motivated and track my progress towards my goals, I will create a visual dashboard displaying all the data I record. The dashboard will include:
- Lift Progress
- 5k Run Times
- 5k Training Table
The dashboard will feature trend lines and goal lines, allowing me to easily understand how far I am from achieving my targets and whether I'm making progress.
Future Considerations
From my research, I've learned that recording calories can be challenging. I plan to address this topic in a separate post, where I'll share my thoughts and experiences.
By documenting my fitness journey, setting clear goals, and tracking my progress, I aim to stay motivated and accountable as I work towards improving my overall health and fitness in 2024.
